Welcome to The Gaming Table
In the late 1980s, one night after school and work, a new game was laid on the dining table. It had an angry barbarian on the front and lots of pictures of miniatures fighting minotaurs and necromancers on the back. It was everything Monopoly and Cluedo were not. This was Heroquest, and it was undoubtedly one of the best games we've ever played.
Since then, our love of board gaming and tabletop gaming has grown immeasurably. There is something special about hitting the evening after work, getting Wingspan, Brass Birmingham or Champions of Midgard out, putting our phones down (after finding a suitable playlist) and switching on to something engaging and different.
Some of you may remember The Gaming Table when it was an online board game retailer between 2018 and 2021. Life and the world in general got in the way, and we decided to take a pause and bring it back in a way that was fun and sustainable for us. We are happy to recommend businesses such as Zatu or Chaos Cards because we know what it's like to be in their shoes, and know they try their best to provide a great experience.
You will see that we have affiliate links on each of our reviews to selected partners (and Amazon for the last resort). Each time you click a link and purchase a game, we earn a small commission (usually between 1% and 5%) from the board game retailer. This money goes toward keeping us employed and keeping the website up and running. This doesn't increase the price of your game or impact you in anyway, and it certainly doesn't influence our opinions or scores in our reviews or guides. If we recommend a game it's because we love it, and that's the only reason we recommend it.
The board gaming industry in the last twenty years has unleashed its creativity, increased its production quality and now regularly delivers experiences that are often second to none. The Gaming Table is here to celebrate that and also champion great games so others can discover and enjoy them too.
We hope you enjoy your visit!
